Aylesbury Business Against Crime (ABAC) shopwatch, aims to provide a
safe and none- threatening environment for people who
visit, live and work in Aylesbury. We do this by linking the retail and business communities with Thames Valley Police and co-ordinating activity to reduce crime and disorder in the area.
ABAC is a non-profit making, self funding scheme that is run and directed by a cross-representative steering group from major business sectors in Aylesbury. A co-ordinator is employed who ensures the smooth running of our day to day operations, including keeping members up to speed with relevant information about local crime and known criminals.
Any organisation in the Aylesbury area that is concerned about the impact of crime on their business can join ABAC for just £10.62 per week. Whether it’s theft, counterfeit money fraud or anti-social behavior, ABAC has proved that working together can make a difference.
Our founder members include Friars Square and Hale Leys shopping centres, AVDC & Thames Valley Police, more recently we have welcomed companies from various sectors. The ABAC team work closely with the Thames Valley Police, Aylesbury Vale District Council and the local Neighborhood Action Group. We also use various intelligence systems and liaise with neighboring towns to share information on cross border offenders. We have been awarded the safer business award by the Association of Business Crime Prevention.
ABAC aims to provide a safe and more secure environment for people who visit, live and work in Aylesbury. We aim to do this by:
